The comedian spoke on the Howie Mandel Does Stuff podcast and said he was \u201cclinically dead\u201d when paramedics found him on a Los Angeles sidewalk late last year. He remembers almost nothing from the collapse itself and woke up only after emergency crews brought him back.<\/p>\n
The incident happened on December 9, 2025, outside a corner store. Dick said first responders told him he wasn\u2019t breathing and had turned purple by the time they reached him. The experience forced him into a difficult but necessary period of reflection about his health and history with substance use.<\/p>\n
After the overdose, Dick moved into a sober-living facility where he\u2019s tested regularly and kept in a structured routine. During follow-up evaluations, doctors performed a CAT scan and found what he described as \u201cfive to seven holes\u201d in his brain.
