However, Bale\u2019s most beloved project is from a world he is not commonly associated with: Japanese anime. Christian Bale is a long-time admirer of renowned anime filmmaker <strong style=\"text-align: justify\">Hayao Miyazaki<\/strong>. Among all Studio Ghibli productions, one magical fantasy film is his personal favorite.<\/p>\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" style=\"text-align: justify\">The Anime Film Bale Loves<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">What is even more interesting is that the anime movie at the top of Christian Bale\u2019s list is none other than Howl\u2019s Moving Castle. What makes this piece of information unique is that Christian Bale himself voiced the wizard in the English version of the movie. The fantasy film, released in 2004 by Hayao Miyazaki, has become one of Studio Ghibli\u2019s most popular productions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">It has been said that after watching Spirited Away, Christian Bale became a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki\u2019s works. \u201cI<em style=\"text-align: justify\">f I ever did a voiceover, I\u2019d like it to be for a movie like that.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Bale\u2019s admiration for Miyazaki clearly remained strong long after 2004. His return to the Studio Ghibli fold in 2023 for <em style=\"text-align: justify\">The Boy and the Heron,<\/em> voicing the character of Shoichi (Mahito\u2019s father).<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\" style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<div style=\"text-align: justify\"><span data-embed-id=\"cce690a6ff564ddabe370c9f3ab06927\" data-embed-type=\"social-auto\" style=\"text-align: justify\"><\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">This appreciation soon became reality when he was chosen to voice the character in the English version of Howl\u2019s Moving Castle, in which he portrayed Howl. The film is a tale of a young lady who is mysteriously afflicted and turns into an old lady.
