Actress Rosanna Arquette has raised questions about Virginia Giuffre\u2019s death, saying she doesn\u2019t believe she took her own life.<\/p>\n

Giuffre died aged 41 at her home in Australia in April last year, having been the first woman to accuse Andrew Mount-Batten Windsor of sexually assaulting her.<\/p>\n

She claimed she was trafficked to the ex-prince three times when she was 17 in connection with Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell, which he denied.<\/p>\n

\u2018I knew Virginia. I don\u2019t think she killed herself,\u2019 the Desperately Seeking Susan star told The Times of the death, which was said to be a suicide.<\/p>\n

When asked directly if she believed her friend had died by her own hand, she replied: \u2018I do not\u2019.<\/p>\n

Arquette had \u2018many conversations with the Epstein women\u2019, sharing how their experience mirrored her own with Harvey Weinstein.<\/p>\n

She appeared in Quentin Tarantino\u2019s Pulp Fiction, which was produced by Weinstein, and claims she was not paid a percentage of the box office due to his involvement.<\/p>\n

Four years prior, Arquette claims she had been told she had a meeting with Weinstein about a script, only to be taken up to his hotel room.<\/p>\n

He was allegedly waiting in a bathrobe and attempted to force her to touch his genitals, with the actress saying she was \u2018fortunate\u2019 to escape without being raped.<\/p>\n

\u2018But, boy, was it going there and I paid a price for saying no, and later I paid a price for telling the truth,\u2019 she added.<\/p>\n

In 2017, Arquette was one of the first to speak out against Weinstein, who has been at\u00a0the centre of rape or sexual misconduct allegations\u00a0from more than 100 people, with some claims dating back to the 1970s.<\/p>\n

The suggestion that Giuffre did not take her own life has been made by others close to her, including her father, Sky Roberts.<\/p>\n

He told Piers Morgan shortly after her death that he \u2018can\u2019t believe that this is happening\u2019, affirming his belief that \u2018somebody got to her\u2019.<\/p>\n

Giuffre\u2019s lawyer, Karrie Louden, told The Sun in April last year that she also had \u2018big question marks\u2019 about how her client died.<\/p>\n

\u2018I got the phone call, I was like, \u2018Are you joking?\u201d Louden recalled. \u2018Because there was no sign that that was something she was considering.\u2019<\/p>\n

Mountbatten-Windsor denied wrongdoing towards Giuffre during his Newsnight interview in 2019, claiming he had \u2018no recollection of ever meeting her\u2019.<\/p>\n

In 2015, weeks after Giuffre filed a claim in court,\u00a0Epstein did not correct New York\u00a0Times reporter Landon Thomas Jr. when he mentioned the alleged \u2018consensual sex\u2019 the former royal had with \u2018VR\u2019, presumed to be Virginia Roberts, which was her maiden name.<\/p>\n

In emails seen in the files released by the US Justice Departmen, Thomas wrote: \u2018I think the big issue is separating yourself from Andrew. I mean, in the end, he had consensual sex with VR. And VR worked for you.<\/p>\n

\u2018The rest is atmospherics.\u00a0You have moved on! People don\u2019t know that and can\u2019t accept that unless you say as much.\u2019<\/p>\n

A photo of Guiffre and Mountbatten-Windsor together has been widely circulated, with the former royal claiming it had been doctored.<\/p>\n

An email with the subject matter \u2018draft statement\u2019 was also sent by Maxwell in the Epstein files, which appeared to confirm the photo was real.<\/p>\n

The email read: \u2018In 2001, I was in London when [redacted] met a number of friends of mine, including Prince Andrew. A photograph was taken as I imagine she wanted to show it to friends and family.\u2019<\/p>\n

Guiffre\u2019s family said this was \u2018vindication\u2019 that \u2018she was not lying this entire time\u2019.<\/p>\n

Mountbatten-Windsor reached a private settlement with Giuffre in 2022 after she sued him for sexual assault. He did not make any admission of guilt as part of the settlement.<\/p>\n

Epstein died by suicide at age 66 in August 2019 following his arrest on federal sex trafficking charges. Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2022 after being convicted on sex trafficking charges<\/p>\n
