Cillian Murphy left his fans highly amused as he admitted that he feels he doesn’t have a “real job.”<\/p>\n

The Peaky Blinders star was speaking to fans at a Q&A when he confessed that he doesn’t find it hard to cope with playing traumatized characters because he doesn’t take himself too seriously. Cillian – who is currently back on screens starring as iconic gangster Tommy Shelby – pointed out that he likes things to be more light-hearted.<\/p>\n

One audience member, who shared that they were a doctor, questioned how Cillian tackles his difficult roles. To this, the 49-year-old actor replied, “I don’t really know. I mean you kind of have to like, you’re a doctor? See that’s a real job.”<\/p>\n

The audience then laughed as he continued, “I think I am very aware that my job is primarily to put on costumes and do some voices. I’m very cognizant of that, and I don’t use it therapeutically or anything, the work, but um, it’s a great release to play these characters and it’s important, like i think the energy on set needs to be light.”<\/p>\n

Cillian added, “I think if everyone was walking around living that, it’s going to be a kind of a bit of a downer to be you know to be on set like that. We have a lot of fun, and there’s a lot of joking and messing around. But then you’re dealing with something that’s quite heavy. And then you know then you just go on holiday.”<\/p>\n

Cillian then concluded, “But I really think, you know i do think think there’s too much time when you have actors kind of moaning about their jobs, when you’re doing something really important.” <\/p>\n

Fans seeing the clip on social media then commented on the clip. One wrote, “Love that humility guy wins awards for playing heroes and still calls doctors the real ones. Hard not to respect that perspective.”<\/p>\n

A second said, “I bet impostor syndrome is strong for actors.” A third posted, “It’s why so many male actors get a hard on for method work – they put themselves in situations where they’re doing something “tough” or “psychologically torturous” to make up for the fact they play make believe.”<\/p>\n

A third added, “His part about ‘how you’re dealing with stuff that’s heavy…. and then you go on holiday’ is pretty insightful, he knows that being able to put the heavy things down and take a vacation alone separates him from people who are doctors. What a lovely person.”<\/p>\n

A fourth fan commented, “I love when celebrities seem to understand the inherent ridiculousness of celebrity.” <\/p>\n

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is currently on a limited theater release before it heads to Netflix on March 20.<\/p>\n
