{"id":256,"date":"2026-03-08T15:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-03-08T15:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/parkmania.pl\/?p=256"},"modified":"2026-03-08T15:00:00","modified_gmt":"2026-03-08T15:00:00","slug":"strictly-star-ellie-goldstein-back-on-the-dancefloor-by-royal-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/parkmania.pl\/?p=256","title":{"rendered":"Strictly star Ellie Goldstein back on the dancefloor by royal appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Goldstein took her dancing talents to St James\u2019s Palace with a performance for the Duchess of Edinburgh.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The model and actress last year became the first Strictly contestant with Down\u2019s syndrome with Sophie, patron of the charity Mencap, sharing a video message during the final in which she praised Ellie\u2019s impact in challenging perceptions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ellie and dance partner Vito Coppola took to the dance floor again at the palace after the duchess hosted a special afternoon tea.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Ellie, a Mencap Myth Buster ambassador who took her mother Yvonne to the event, said Sophie asked lots of questions about her time on Strictly and described the experience as \u201camazing\u201d.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-document-id=\"cms\/api\/amp\/image\/AA1XLsEg\" data-reference=\"image\" src=\"https:\/\/img-s-msn-com.akamaized.net\/tenant\/amp\/entityid\/AA1XLsEg.jpg\" style=\"display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto\"\/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">She said: \u201cIt means so much to be recognised by a member of the royal family.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cI\u2019m proud to show that people with a learning disability can achieve their dreams and to never give up what they want to do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Coppola said working with Ellie had been \u201can incredible experience\u201d and said he had gained a \u201clittle sister for life\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">He said: \u201cEveryone learns differently and dancing with someone who has a learning disability means\u00a0thinking outside the box\u00a0and understanding how to communicate and teach in the best way that works for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Jon Sparkes, the chief executive of Mencap which celebrates its 80th birthday this year, was among the guests at the event who said it showed how Ellie\u2019s influence is \u201chelping to drive lasting change in attitudes and expectations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201cIt\u00a0recognises\u00a0not only Ellie\u2019s talent and determination, but the way she has challenged assumptions and opened hearts and minds across the country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Goldstein took her dancing talents to St James\u2019s Palace with a performance for the Duchess of Edinburgh.
