{"id":1629,"date":"2026-03-08T22:39:39","date_gmt":"2026-03-08T22:39:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/parkmania.pl\/?p=1629"},"modified":"2026-03-08T22:39:39","modified_gmt":"2026-03-08T22:39:39","slug":"congregation-ner-tamid-religious-school-stages-broadway-themed-purim-spiel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/parkmania.pl\/?p=1629","title":{"rendered":"Congregation Ner Tamid religious school stages Broadway-themed Purim spiel"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Costumes, Broadway tunes, and the story of Queen Esther took center stage Sunday when Congregation Ner Tamid\u2019s Religious School staged a Broadway Purim Spiel and Carnival.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Purim is one of the most joyous holidays on the Jewish calendar, commemorating a time when the Jewish people living in Persia, now Iran, were saved from extermination. <\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As part of the celebration, Congregation Ner Tamid\u2019s Religious School students, in full costume and make-up, performed a spiel \u2014 a comic dramatization of the Book of Esther, the central text describing what transpired on Purim \u2014 set to the tunes of well-known Broadway ballads.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Songs planned for the performance include \u201cMegillah of Life\u201d (\u201cCircle of Life\u201d) from \u201cThe Lion King,\u201d \u201cLittle Men\u201d (\u201cLittle-Girls\u201d) from \u201cAnnie,\u201d \u201cMatchmaker\u201d from \u201cFiddler on the Roof,\u201d \u201cYou Need Me\u201d (\u201cYou&#8217;ll Be Back\u201d) from \u201cHamilton,\u201d \u201cSo Long, Farewell\u201d from \u201cThe Sound of Music,\u201d \u201cWe Will Not Bow Down\u201d (\u201cSeize the Day\u201d) from \u201cNewsies,\u201d \u201cBefore the Spiel Passes By\u201d (\u201cBefore the Parade Passes By\u201d) from \u201cHello Dolly,\u201d \u201cNaughty\u201d from \u201cMatilda,\u201d and \u201cSeasons of Love\u201d from \u201cRent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">After the performance, the celebration continued with a Broadway-themed carnival featuring games, activity booths, train rides, karaoke, giant inflatables, water balloons with Congregation Ner Tamid Rabbi-Cantor Jessica Hutchings, sub sandwiches, Jeremiah\u2019s ice cream cups, coffee and donuts, and more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The event also included spinning gragers, walking around in costumes, and eating hamantaschen, traditional Purim bakery treats.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Costumes, Broadway tunes, and the story of Queen Esther took center stage Sunday when Congregation Ner Tamid\u2019s Religious School staged a Broadway Purim Spiel and Carnival.
