AUSTIN (KXAN) \u2014 If you haven\u2019t heard the name Mama Duke by now, you\u2019re missing out.<\/p>\n
The Austin recording artist\/rapper can do it all, and since her appearance on \u201cAmerica\u2019s Got Talent\u201d she has seen her career take off.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverything feels better, tastes better, is better,\u201d said Mama Duke. \u201cI have so many things going on, SXSW is coming up, it is a weird world to be both building brand and building Mama Duke.\u201d<\/p>\n
One of her songs, \u201cFeels so good to be you\u201d, which she performed on the show went viral and she has plans to release a music video for the song soon.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are sitting at about 4.3 million [plays] and the music video is about to come out in April,\u201d Mama Duke said.<\/p>\n
Mama Duke has a lot going on, but that hasn\u2019t slowed her down as she says she is working on a new single.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis next single has to be great right?\u201d said Mama Duke. \u201cYou can\u2019t do \u2018so good to be you\u2019, 4 point whatever million [plays], viral, then you have a sleeper. We have been working hard. The next single, I think we can do a little exclusive, it is called \u201cHead in the clouds\u201d because that is what it feels like right now. I am gearing up for that. I am going to give you an exclusive. I am about to be on another TV show. We have been working, we have been making music, we have been producing, we have been building.\u201d<\/p>\n
With SXSW kicking off this week Mama Duke says she is excited to spread the word about \u201cATX Social Club,\u201d which is a platform where she connects with artists and now it has evolved.<\/p>\n
\u201cATX Social Club started out as a live stream hip hop show, but it has grown as I have and now we are doing sessions and workshops,\u201d said Mama Duke.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat is cool about ATX Social Club is you have a couple of people that do these things really well, or I do these things really well, and then being able to come together and everyone lift each other at the same time, it really builds an incredible community,\u201d said artist and producer J-Dash.<\/p>\n
Speaking of ATX Social Club, there will be an official showcase at SXSW. J-Dash, Mama Duke and a number of other recording artists will be performing.<\/p>\n
\u201cTo be able to create in a cooler space, a bigger space like SXSW, to be presented an official showcase, which to me means you have done the work, it is a little nod, it is here give back and that is all I want to do,\u201d Mama Duke said.<\/p>\n
You can see Mama Duke, J-Dash and more artists perform at 7 p.m. on March 12 at Swan Dive.<\/p>\n
