One person was injured after gunfire erupted in a parking lot near a Beaumont movie theater Sunday, prompting police to briefly clear the theater as a precaution.<\/p>\n
The shooting was reported in the parking lot of the Waffle House at 3865 Interstate 10 Access Rd, near Cinemark Tinseltown Beaumont 15 and involved a large group of teenagers, according to Haley Morrow, public information officer for the Beaumont Police Department.<\/p>\n

One person suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Morrow said. The victim\u2019s identity and age were not immediately released.<\/p>\n
As officers responded to the scene, police cleared the nearby movie theater as a safety precaution while they secured the area. The theater was later determined to be safe.<\/p>\n
Authorities did not immediately say what led to the shooting or whether any suspects were in custody.<\/p>\n
The investigation remains ongoing.<\/p>\n
