Nearly four years after Queen Elizabeth II passed away, former The View <\/em>co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck recalls one awkward moment with the late monarch.<\/p>\n

While appearing on The Weekend View<\/em>, Hasselbeck recalled being invited to the White House by former President George W. Bush for a state dinner with the Queen. <\/p>\n

\u201cI was so nervous,\u201d she recalled. \u201cI wore my wedding cape.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hasselbeck further explained, \u201cI had no idea what to do when I got there. Like, I didn\u2019t know [you couldn\u2019t touch the Queen].\u201d<\/p>\n

She was referring to royal protocol that forbids the public from touching members fo the royal family. <\/p>\n

\u201cI went in for a hug,\u201d she continued. \u201cIt didn\u2019t go well. It was very awkward.\u201d <\/p>\n

However, things got even more awkward at the event for Hasselbeck and her husband. \u201cThere were so many things before me, so many forks,\u201d she pointed out. \u201cI grew up simply, you know?\u201d<\/p>\n

Hasselbeck continued, \u201cI remember this, like, chalice of something, and I didn\u2019t \u2026 grow up with many courses. I’m literally [pretends to bring a bowl to her lips], mid-sip, and Jeb Bush leans over, Condoleezza Rice is [on] my other side, and he\u2019s like, \u2018You might not want to drink that. That\u2019s for your hands.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Hasselbeck Returned to \u2018The View\u2019 as a Guest Co-Host For the Week <\/h2>\n

The former Survivor <\/em>contestant has been guest co-hosting\u00a0<\/span>The View\u00a0this week while Alyssa Farah Griffin is on maternity leave. <\/p>\n

While on\u00a0The View\u2019s\u00a0<\/em>accompanying\u00a0Behind the Table\u00a0<\/em>podcast, Hasselbeck compared the morning talk show to the deadliest snakes on\u00a0Survivor.<\/em><\/span> <\/p>\n

\u201cWhat better preparation [for\u00a0The View<\/em>] than 39 out of 41 days in the Australian outback, with nine out of the 10 deadliest snakes?\u201d she said, referring to Survivor. <\/em>\u201cThe prep that you\u2019ll need to get at the table of\u00a0The View<\/em>\u00a0and debate Hot Topics every day for 10 years? I think\u00a0Survivor<\/em>\u00a0did me well for that.\u201d <\/p>\n

Hasselbeck was a co-host on The View <\/em>from 2003 to 2013. <\/p>\n

Along with discussing her time on The View, <\/em>Hasselbeck revealed why she won\u2019t be returning to Survivor <\/em>anytime soon. <\/p>\n

\u201cSolid no.\u00a0Solid<\/em>\u00a0no, every single time,\u201d she said. <\/p>\n

Hasselbeck cited her family as the reason she did not return to Survivor. <\/em>\u201cI don\u2019t think I could leave the kids. I barely want to miss a [sports] game today that I know is going on.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
