Pop star Charli XCX revealed she wants to leave the music industry to focus on acting during a Feb. 22 appearance on Quen Blackwell\u2019s YouTube series, \u201cFeeding Starving Celebrities.\u201d<\/p>\n
When Blackwell asked the singer if she wanted to act more, Charli XCX replied, \u201cyes, are you kidding? I want to quit music, babe, and act.\u201d<\/p>\n
The declaration came shortly after her 2024 album \u201cBrat\u201d won a Grammy in 2025 for Best Dance\/Electronic Album, Page Six noted. When Blackwell pointed out her recent success, the artist responded, \u201cWhat else is there to do?\u201d<\/p>\n
Charli XCX described her dream project as an \u201cultimate it-girl \u2018Final Destination\u2019\u201d film, a concept she first shared in a May 2025 TikTok video. She told Blackwell the movie would feature her and other celebrities \u201crunning around being so hot, but being killed in the craziest ways.\u201d The singer said she included Blackwell in the concept alongside Rachel Sennott, Alex Consani, Gabbriette and Romy Mars as potential cast members.<\/p>\n
The singer recently appeared in \u201cThe Moment,\u201d a mockumentary-style film released in January where she played a fictionalized version of herself. The movie follows her character as she navigates the demands of the music industry while preparing for a tour. Kylie Jenner, Kate Berlant and Alexander Skarsg\u00e5rd also starred in the film.<\/p>\n
Charli XCX told Vanity Fair in an October 2025 interview that the film originated from pressure by her record label to create a documentary about her \u201cBrat\u201d album and tour.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s not a tour documentary or a concert film in any way, but the seed of the idea was conceived from this idea of being pressured to make one,\u201d she said. \u201cIt\u2019s fiction, but it\u2019s the realest depiction of the music industry that I\u2019ve ever seen.\u201d<\/p>\n
